Mark and Jason’s story of Tea and Gin
The Tea Junction is the creation of a mid life crisis. Partners Jason Larrosa and Mark Davison came from backgrounds in IT, marketing and finance. Bored by the 9-5 routine Mark and Jason set up the Tea Junction and within a few weeks it became number one on Trip Advisor with its quirky innovative approach and fantastic customer service. With a passion for travel, Mark & Jason had visited a tea shop or two. As Mark said “we picked up ideas from all over the world to create something we loved, and luckily everyone else loves it too”.
As they were planning the creation of the Tea Junction, a chance encounter brought the innovative Maltese chef Michelle Borg into the lives of Mark & Jason. Her passion for baking was evident from the outset and has helped establish the Tea Junction as the number one spot for tea & cake on the Isle of Man. Michelle, having worked at several of the Island’s top eateries is firm believer in creating everything from scratch, her cakes and soups are the stuff of legends and her creative abilities are boundless.
The addition of the Gin was a bit of a fluke. Mark had been given some Damsons and didn’t know what to do with them. A quick Google search revealed recipes for a gin infusion! This helped lead to the development of the 12 or so fruit and tea based gin infusions available today.
In addition to tea, cake and gin, you can also enjoy breakfast and lunch at the Tea Junction as well as a fabulous range of milkshakes and other hot drinks. The G & Tea Afternoon Tea is hugely popular, especially at the weekends, and even though it’s all about the tea, you can opt for a barista prepared coffee too.
The Tea Junction also hosts themed evening events, private events and pop up fine dining evenings.
